Boo Pumpkin Carving

Filed under: Pumpkin Carving — vegandiva @ 5:49 pm

Well I’m on the mend so I can finally get back to cooking, baking, and more importantly eating!!!! Sinus infections are always so miserable and disrupt my appetite and taste-buds. Since we just took it easy this weekend, I spent some time carving pumpkins. Here’s one my favorites that I did:

You know what I’m having a horrible time finding here? Glow-sticks. I like using glow-sticks to illuminate my pumpkins because then I don’t have to worry about any candles or going back outside to turn off any battery-operated light. I’m going to have to go to one of those temporary Halloween stores to find some I think.

Hope you have a great day :)

Sick…Again!

Filed under: Misc. — vegandiva @ 10:06 am

Hi All. I’m still here but I am sick again. I’m right on the verge of another sinus infection. Ugh! Almost everyone in my office is sick so it was bound to happen. I went to the doctor this morning so hopefully I will back to normal soon.  Hope all is well and I will be back to posting soon!

First Pumpkin Carving of the Year

Filed under: Pumpkin Carving, Vegan — vegandiva @ 8:06 pm

Yay! It’s time for pumpkins, apples, and cider. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. Although you can’t tell it’s Fall around here. We’ve had temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s!

Here is my first pumpkin carving of the year. I used the current pumpkin carving kit/pattern book you can buy at any retailer.

And what’s a pumpkin carving post without roasted pumpkin seeds! This pumpkin yielded two bowls worth of seeds. Yummy!

I accidentally dropped one of my vintage bowls on the ceramic tile floor in the kitchen. It shattered into a hundred little pieces. Ugh! I was so upset. It was a pain to clean up because the little pieces got caught in the grout.

I was super busy last month. Things have settled down now. My new job is going well and my new co-workers are really nice. I’ve already brought some baked goods into the office. Everyone has enjoyed the baked goods. I’ve brought in pie, muffins, and cookies so far.

I’ve been reading your blogs but I just haven’t had time to comment. I hope all is well. I hope to catch up soon.

Have a wonderful day :)

Heap O’ Habanero Peppers

Filed under: Gardening, Vegan — vegandiva @ 9:44 pm

This was the final harvest of habanero peppers from our garden last month:

I used the peppers in all sorts of dishes but one of my favorite things to make is habanero hot sauce. It is embarrassingly easy to make. My favorite recipe to use is from Rick Bayless. Rob even brought some in for his co-workers to try and they loved it. The hot sauce recipe makes a lot more than what is pictured.
