    Asparagus is one of my favorite foods. My second pet cat was name Gus, short for Asparagus. —If you read TS Elliot or know the musical Cats, that’s where the joke came from. Gus was part of litter of kittens all name from characters in Cats.

    Cool napkins and I dig the funky pepper mill.

    the asparagus is georgous. i just got a copy of ExtraVEGANza & it’s a lovely cookbook — i’ve only cooked one thing so far. care to share your dal soup recipe? i have some chana dal that i don’t know what do with & this looks so great. and i’m a big fan of the eiffel tower napkin. au revoir! 😮

    I keep trying asparagus, and it keeps not growing on me. It’s one of those foods that I will eat, but I don’t really enjoy. And I hate how it makes my pee smell. Wait, I’m not the only one with that, am I?

    The granola looks really good. ExtraVEGANza is on my list of cookbooks to get. I’ve heard good things about it.

    I used regular (cheap) cocoa in the brownies, what would you suggest for next time?

    I haven’t seen ExtraVEGANza in the bookstores yet, but I’m dying to add it to my collection.

    Yellow split beans are my favorite thing at the moment. That’s what I use in my pumpkin soup.

    I love your peppermill. And the napkins turned out beautifully!

    Way to go with the napkins! Very cool. The countertops make a great photo background (lemons out of lemonade, right?).

    Asparagus and green beans are my fav veggies. I can’t ever eat enough of them.

    That asparagus looks too good. Yum! I probably have to wait until spring to get some though… =l Just like Crystal, asparagus is among my top favorite vegetables.
    Your dal looks so colorful. And, I just love your little embroideries- so cute!
    I’ll try to participate in that “what’s in your basket” event. sounds fun.

    I love asparagus! I’ve never tried grilling it (probably because I don’t have a grill lol), but it looks like a great way to prepare it.

    That grocery round-up sounds fun, but I don’t think I want to admit how much $ I spend on groceries. :/ Yikes…

    Your napkins are awesome, too! The UFO is my personal favorite.

    Jody, Gus is such a cute name for a cat. Love the story behind how you chose it.

    Judy, I’m not crazy about asparagus if it’s just boiled or steamed. I prefer it grilled. Maybe you’ll like it more that way 🙂 Hmmm, I haven’t noticed any smells but I have heard that can happen. Thanks again for the sweet comments on the napkins.

    Laura, it’s a good cookbook, the Lemon Poppyseed cake recipe from it is one of my favorites (just don’t use the frosting recipe).

    ATxVegn, thanks for the compliments! Bookstores can be so fickle about what books they carry. I got ExtraVEGANza for my birthday but I believe they bought it from Amazon.com

    VV, you’re absolutely right about the background 🙂 I told Rob I felt the need to put a disclaimer so people wouldn’t think I willingly chose those colors. LOL Oh, I love green beans too. Yum! I miss all the summer produce. Asparagus is one of our favorites too. I’m getting hungry for it just writing about it again.

    I’m an asparagus lover too, right now in the dead of winter all veggies other than the common carrot and cabbage are pretty expensive though or just not available. Love the crafty items, I also think you have done some work on your page . Looks good.

    I love the napkins! my mom and I keep discussing how we need to use clothe napkins instead of paper. if I eat at their house, I cut mine in half and share it with mom or dad.

    I never thought to use the indoor grill for asparagus — thanks for the tip. Yours looks great.
